It’s all in the preparation! We’ve heard that before and especially with your body this is true. A healthy body that is mostly ( because no one is perfect here) free from toxins with a strong immune system, is not liable to get a cold or suffer from the flu. On the other hand the average American who eats poorly and is on toxic overload has the greater chance of succumbing to illness.
I have created Colds/Flu/Immune with prevention in mind. Let’s look at the herbs it contains and learn how they can support your body.
Echinacea Root
A specific herb for autointoxication. An analysis conducted by the University of Connecticut looked at 14 different echinacea studies. The results, which were published in the journal Lancet Infectious Diseases, found the following:
Consuming Echinacea improves immunity and reduces the chances of catching the common cold by 58 percent.
Taking Echinacea can cut the duration of a cold by nearly a day and a half. Echinacea does more than stimulating T-cells, it also increases the production of white blood cells in the body, which are the main soldiers in the battle against illness going on in our bodies every day. Furthermore, echinacea contains a compound called echinacein, which actually inhibits bacteria and viruses from penetrating healthy cells, thereby greatly reducing the chances of contracting any type of infection while consuming echinacea in either supplemental or natural form.
Olive Leaf
Olive Leaf has Anti–viral and anti-bacterial properties. The oleuropein, and other compound found in olive leaf, have a unique feature that makes the leaves particularly effective in fighting against various micro-organisms such as bacteria and viruses. These substances impair the ability of the viruses to create amino acids, thus preventing their ability to reproduce and multiply. These compounds act just against the micro-organisms, actually achieving what antibiotics could not achieve – a targeted attack of the problem, instead of attacking the micro-organisms along with the body.
Astragalus Root
The immune system boosting property of Astragalus was what made it popular as an herb for general health in Chinese Medicine. Regular use of the herb protects against many diseases and seasonal infections. Studies have revealed that Astragalus extract increases immune cell function, mainly by activating and regulating T-cells that are central to immune function. These cells are engaged in identifying foreign antigens and destroying abnormal cancer cells and virus-infected cells. Another property of T-cells is that they carry the memory of these antigens and offer continuing protection long after an infection is resolved.
This herbal combination is a powerhouse of antibacterial, antiviral, antioxidant and Immune supporting herbs. Use for prevention, or at the first sign of colds or flu and this is excellent for autoimmune dysfunction and for those who are fighting cancer.
